Wild caught and sustainable
We catch sustainable, wild-caught shrimp in the nutrient-rich waters of the Sea of Cortez where the underwater habitat is pure and the climate creates ideal temperatures. Deep Sea is affiliated with the Supply Chain Roundtable, sustainablefish.org, to further promote sustainable production of seafood. We also want to help protect the porpoise distinction by ensuring safer measures of catching seafood. We are always looking for ways to help our ecosystem and working with boat owners and environmentalists in Mexico.
Environmentally conscious
Our company is partnered with the Mexican Seafood Council and the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), mexicanshrimpcouncil.com, to make us one of the few importers who ensure our fleet and catch follow all the environmental rules. Our producers use boats which contain TED (Turtle Exclusions Devices) which safely harvest shrimp without affecting the turtles or other marine species.

Our premium brown shrimp from the West Coast of Mexico is called El Cortez. These shrimp have light brown or tan shells that turn coral when cooked. The meat is white with a sweeter firm texture.

We also offer our Deep Sea brand in Individual Quick Frozen finish count. Our goal is to produce top quality headless wild prawns which are peeled and deveined, chemical free from the Sea of Cortez. This shrimp can be naturally sweet from feeding in nutrient rich waters of Mexico.
